Bearing edge
Re-routing the old and damaged bearing edges greatly improves the sound of a drum. There are different profiles for the bearing edges: rounder for vintage sound and more acute for that tight, modern sound. I am glad to assist you on choosing the right profile.
Here's how it's done: First the edge of the drum is sanded even. Then the new inside and outside edges are routed. The edges are sanded by hand. After that the edges are re-routed and polished. Finally a wax solution is applied to the new bearing edges by hand. After this, just install the heads and you are all set for a gig.
